A frustrated review on Blousefull ooops Housefull

Hi. In case any one has any doubts on what this post is all about, I would take this opportunity to explain that this is an obituary to the breed of cinema that we have been seeing for some time. There are however loads of exceptions and hence this may not be taken as a generalized statement. The brand of cinema that I am referring to passes of as slapstick comedy which has no head and tail to it and is hailed by aficionados as a different genre!

This happened last Sunday. Avani(My wife, who too is a film enthusiast as me) pulled me up for the fact that I have not been paying attention to her and supposedly have been immersing myself into work. She pointed out to the fact that it has actually been ages since we went for a movie and challenged me by asking me which was the last time we had gone to a theater. I fumbled for the answer and had no option but to concede. She was zapped by the promos of Housefull and wanted to watch it at any cost. Now, when you are wife is adamant, is there anything to yo can do to salvage the situation other than giving in? If you have any ideas, post them secretly to me :).

We were quite excited considering the awesome promotions aired. This however was extremely short lived. The moment it started, I had this feel that this movie was not made by a pro but someone who just had a whim and now its a film! Sajid Khan had done a fair job with hey baby and i thought we would see some glimpses of it or may be something even better in this one. The jokes were lewd, acting poor, no story and it was utter mayhem.

The movie first of all must have been Blousefull and not Housefull. It has ample bosom on display and I guess that has been used as the USP of the film. Sajid's been generous to ensure that his leading ladies have enough space to show their talents!! (No pun intended). Deepika looks hot but also looks someone who seems famished. Lara looks amazingly charming but the problem is that she is typecast and a look into her previous films corroborates the fact that she as always is "one of the cast" in a pot boiler. Jiah Khan? Why not Rakhi Sawant! Why not Sambhavana Seth? I would not rate her any better than this and certainly looks out of place in the whole set up. Ritesh!! Please do not do such movies man. I personally feel that you are far more talented than this stupidity that you have been doing over and over again. Arjun Rampal. Looks good. But thats about it. Pushpak kind of movies (Where one does not utter anything at all) suits him. Modelling: U do not have a parallel. Acting: These lines do not intersect at all bro. Akshay! Man what is this? We do not pay our hard earned money to see this. It certainly was not your kind of a film.

And now lets talk about the supremely egoistic Sajid Khan. The man needs asylum. The man had the gall to say that "My film making is a tribute to the people like Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Manmohan Desai et al who make my films which i think is the right kind of cinema: Entertainment" (My memory did me in since i do not remember the exact words and some other stalwarts' names). What rubbish!! How could Sajid ever think that his movies are entertainment? First of all, he only has Hey baby before this one which was an OKish outing and secondly the fact that a thorough research before releasing this nuisance would have given him the very sense to refrain from mentioning such stalwarts in his opening. Sajids been poking fun at people. He has this massive ego issue and needs to immediately see a doc/psychiatrist who may please help him overcome this fallacy of him assuming himself to be an entertaining film maker. He is far from being even considered a decent film maker forget being considered an entertainer. He needs lessons on film making and hence must stick to anchoring or ridiculing housefull type hams which he is decent at.

Net net! A completely avoidable movie. One last appeal to the moron that Sajids made himself to be. Sajid, i put in loads of efforts and earn my bucks. I am sure you would appreciate the fact that a common does not have easy money. Watching movies today in theaters is not everyones privilege since it has become an extremely expensive affair. A common man cannot go to theaters regularly since he cannot just afford it. When one does manage to, Housefull kind of movies are just not what they look forward to. Because its money wasted. And I for sure would not want people to waste their hard earned money on such lousy stuff. Please put your massive ego aside and start doing something better. Learn from your so called friend Mr Gowariker the nuances of a film. I am no one to question your films knowledge but am certainly the one to question this one. The best student necessarily does not become the best teacher. Likewise someone who thrives on films may not be the best film maker. This postulate is proved by none other than you.

Folks, avoid this movie. This movie seems like someone put money to turn a whim into a film. Its an absolute hogwash.

  6. Annoying Jokes, ample skin, weak storyline, disjointed plots... I can add more proverbs, and probably take up this entire space, but suffice to say that this movie is a slap on slapstick comedy. I hope this movie does not stick and ends up in the trash. My wife and I watched it too, and she made the same statements you made to convince me to go. So after the movie, I was actually quite happy. I had a wonderful time thanking her for such good choice. I'm quite sure that it'll be a while before she drags me to another one. Cheers, Kashish

  7. You know movies like these are one reason that I love Movie-Piracy. When u hv nothing to do and no mood to spend your money either, these stupid time-pass movies on the internet help you kill time and not money. :)

PLus when u are in countries like Moscow, Ukraine, Greece and are seriously "Hindi-movie-starved" such movies on internet help you satiate your hunger. :)
